Monoprint
Monoprint is described as "a single print taken from a design created in oil paint or printing ink on glass or metal." and it is what we tried out in the start of "greenman" using both paper and plants and then pain on glass.
In the project "greenman" we were given multiple tasks that all had the same theme "greenman" or mainly just nature and plants.
I glued dry grass and leaves on paper and then painted on top of that, put a paper on top of it and pressed it and this is how it turned out, not exactly how I planned because of all the thick paint spread. It's supposed to be a man, or rather an elf, leaf elf maybe. But you can barely see his nose and ear because of the paint that spread after it was under press.
I tried something similar but with paint only on glass, I painted a simple scene of a mountain and a forest but because of how smudged the painting always looked after pressing it I gave up after 5 attempts (or maybe 6, didn't really count but it was frustrating to see my hard work get removed by the pressing machine over and over again.) I still ended up with something cool looking, if you lookn closely at the first one you'll see what looks like a window in rain, the water blurs what looks like a forest or/and mountains and on the window it looks like someone drew a mountain with one of their nails.
Another one I tried my best to use as little paint as I could so it wouldn't smudge, can't say I didn't try.
In this it looks more like a forest scene, with a mountain in the background and a dark, night sky. I used the colour blue mainly on yellow paper because the colours contrast and I thought it would look nice.
We also started working on linocut but I never finished it in time, here's the sketch, a fox and a fern to keep the theme of "greenman" minus the man.
